As the world emerged from the First Industrial Revolution, a transition occurred, moving production from the craftsperson’s skills working out of their home to large factory mass production. In some cases, skills were passed on from the parents. The arrival of the factory focused on larger-scale production, and the larger workforce became more categorized and specialized by specific skills. Factory workers increasingly specialized their skills or functions depending on preference, experience, and training. Companies trained workers in new skills required to produce goods and integrate innovative technologies into the production process.
