The world has practically always had global business.

Arab traders had been traveling to spice-producing lands since 4,000–5,000 years ago, along what have come to be known as the Spice Routes, bringing spices and herbs with them to the Middle East. During the earliest evolution of trade, spices such as cardamom, ginger, pepper, and turmeric were important items of trade, some even as valuable as gold today.
