THE SEARCH FOR NEW FORMS
Although nonlinear stories have occupied the most pronounced direction in the search for new filmic narrative forms, more traditional alternate models have also seen a revival. The utilization of a theatrical frame, or the frame of the novel; the renewed search for television forms as a frame; and finally, the reworking of filmic genre frames, have all served to present films in search of an international audience in a novel or heightened manner.
