The Role of Information Technology


This chapter examines security along the information supply chain which coexists with the more familiar supply chain of tangible items. After an examination of how value is added to collected data, the issue of cybersecurity is discussed. Cyberspace is a new frontier for criminals and some of their techniques which lead to theft and damage are discussed. Appraisal is made of some of the electronic systems and devices used to lock down infrastructure (both physical and informational) and track vehicles, items, and people in motion along a supply chain.
