The Business and Government Interface

Abstract

This chapter covers the interface of business and government in terms of their specific, but not necessarily matching, goals. While there may be differences in private and social goals there is a possibility for a congruous relationship between business and government. In this regard, public-private partnerships are examined with an eye toward how far government regulation can and should extend into the marketplace. Public-private partnerships play an important role in the policy-making process of supply chain security.
