Attributes of Knowledge Society
In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in understanding the causes behind large differences across countries in economic and social development including the growth rates, composition of trade, competitiveness, human development and employment. In this context, the notion of knowledge society is increasingly articulated with varying interpretations of its attributes. Although there are many different yard sticks for measuring economic development, human development, competitiveness, nature of information society and so on based on specified sets of factors but there are no such indices for a knowledge society.
