You often read an acknowledgments section of a book in which the author writes that a book takes a team effort. After seeing the number of people involved in Going Public, I will never scoff at those acknowledgments again! There are so many people I want to thank, that I know I will miss some. Apologies and please do accept my sincerest gratitude nonetheless.

I will start with the members of my family, as they are the most important people in my life. My wonderful wife, Sally, supported the five years of public service described in this book.
