Connecting the dots of history can help us see the future.

Today, when I think about what’s possible for our world, I travel back in time and see my mom and how my journey from “me to we to us” unfolded from my youth.

My mother has always been smart—she just never had any education past high school. She needed the chance to learn and apply herself to get a good-paying job and rebuild our lives. When she started attending night classes at the local community college to learn computers, she struggled being in a learning environment; it had been almost twenty years since she sat in a classroom!
