You know what’s wild? DNA. Scientists have discovered that a single gram of DNA contains 215 petabytes (215 million gigabytes) of data. If we could find a way to encode digital data into an equivalent data storage system, every bit of data ever recorded by humans could be stored in a single room. In fact, scientists are currently working on creating the highest-density large-scale data storage scheme ever invented using DNA as a model.
