6. Engaging Your Donors with Google+
Now that you’ve learned how to use Google+ to research, you’re ready for the next step: engage.
Engaging is like dating. You’re taking the time to get to know the prospect, and they’re taking the time to get to know you. Online social media platforms like Google+ are perfect for engaging with people. When you reply to their posts, you’re talking about something they find interesting: themselves.
The purpose of engaging is to develop a camaraderie, a friendship of sorts (and if not a friendship, at least a link). You want to create enough mutual goodwill that you can invite them into a deeper involvement with your charity. This chapter discusses some ways to engage with people on Google+.
