6. Gadget Desktop Application
This chapter looks at using GWT tools and its widgets, and considers application design techniques, including the Container Application pattern, the Abstract Factory design pattern, and a model-view-controller architectural pattern to build a nontrivial Ajax application: the Gadget Desktop. The interface uses GWT’s user interface library to create the application’s layout with panels, behavior with widgets and events, and look and feel with CSS and images.
