Chapter 16. Keeping Updated with Google Alerts
If you do a lot of Googling, you may get tired of entering the same searches over and over, trying to find the latest search results. Wouldn’t it be great if Google could email you when new web pages appear that match your search criteria? Or if there are recent news articles that match your interests?
That’s where Google Alerts come in. A Google Alert is an email that Google sends you when it finds new items of interest. All you have to do is sign up for an alert, and then wait for your email inbox to fill up.
Different Kinds of Alerts
Google offers five different types of alerts you can choose to receive. Each type of alert is based on a specific type of Google search:
