If you like the maps you get with Google Maps, you’re going to love Google Earth. Google Earth is a software program that lets you create, view, and save high-resolution, three-dimensional fly-bys of any location on the planet. This might sound like a high-end, expensive piece of software, and you’d be half-right; Google Earth (the basic version, anyway) is available free of charge for all users.

Which Version Is for You?
Google offers four different versions of Google Earth, all downloadable from earth.google.com:
