Chapter 42. Analyzing Your Site Traffic

In the previous chapter, we touched on the subject of Google’s tools for webmasters. One of these tools lets you upload a sitemap of your website, to better facilitate Google’s crawling of your site for inclusion in its search index. But that’s just one of several tools you can use to analyze the performance of your site—and find out which pages are attracting the most traffic.

Google offers two sets of tools for analyzing website traffic—Webmaster Tools and Google Analytics. We’ll look at both.
