This chapter presents the graphical processing unit (GPU) implementation of a Navier-Stokes equations solver for steady and unsteady flows and its use for the analysis and optimization of flow control problems based on active control mechanisms. The developed software solves the flow (mean-flow and turbulence model) equations using the vertex-centered, finite volume method on unstructured grids.
