JULIA BORN for JOFF
The ability to translate content into a visual form is a dominant feature in the work of Swiss designer Julia Born. She founded her practice in Amsterdam immediately after graduation in 2000, and approaches each project without preconceived formal restrictions. She allows the content and context of each project to provide the framework from which to work. Born works alone yet often collaborates with other graphic designers to offer greater flexibility and broaden her creativity. Her working method starts with careful analysis of the material and systematic deconstruction of existing rules before she assembles the content into a fully integrated message. JOFF shares in this process of “deconstruction and reconstruction.”
