Narrative as a communication tool is central to the graphic design process. First, it locates us within the context of history, culture, and personal events and builds a knowledge base for us to mine as we further contribute to its evolution. Second, it is a universal model that we can manipulate to form effective vehicles of communication. Finally, it offers a framework within which we are the protagonist of our own design endeavors.
