Chapter Objectives

This chapter approaches group communication from a systems perspective. The chapter has several objectives. First, readers should be able to understand the difference between (a) conventional thinking and (b) systems thinking through the explication of systems concepts. Next, they should be able to identify and tell what are known as systems stories about various group communication anecdotes. Finally, they should be able to identify the practical applications of systems thinking for managing and being a part of groups.
