6.1 SBC16 With Quantities and Without Quantities are both lump sum contracts. If the ‘with quantities’ version is used, the work will be set out in bills of quantities prepared using the ‘Measurement Rules’ – the RICS New Rules of Measurement 2: Detailed Measurement for Building Works (NRM2), unless otherwise stated in the bills. In the ‘without quantities’ version there will be no bills, but the contractor may be required to price a specification or schedule of works (pricing option A) or may supply a contract sum analysis or schedule of rates (pricing option B).
