1About MW16

1.1 There are two versions of the Minor Works Building Contract 2016, one that includes provision for the contractor to carry out design (the ‘Minor Works Building Contract with contractor’s design’, MWD16) and one that does not (MW16). Apart from the provisions relating to design, the two versions are identical and can be used by private clients and public or local authorities alike. Therefore, although this guide refers to MW16 throughout, the points made are equally applicable to both versions. Where matters relating to MWD16 only are covered, these are clearly distinguished.
