It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The process is easy to deal with when you know how it works, however. This chapter explains the FCC licensing system for amateur radio in the United States.
Hams call their license a “ticket” for good reason since it’s a ticket to all of what ham radio has to offer.
