The role of the state in the exhibition industry in Germany and China – A reflection based on the varieties of capitalism-approach
The role of the state with respect to economic development differs in many ways when comparing countries around the world. The “varieties of capitalism-approach” provides for a conceptual framework to identify the state’s role in different spheres of the economy. Using this approach to reflect on the role of the state in China’s and Germany’s exhibition industry helps to recognise how important – though different – the state is in both countries’ exhibition industry.
