8.6. WHAT'S THE ORGANIZATION'S UNDERLYING MOOD?
One interesting measure of an organization's health or functioning is the score on the Anger Management Scale of the BOEI. Often consultants will look at this scale to get an idea of the underlying mood in the organization. In some organizations, people seem relatively happy at a surface level, but underlying what you see can be a degree of anger that works toward slowly sabotaging the workplace. Interestingly, when you interview employees, even as an outside consultant, people often do not admit to these feelings or to the negative behaviors.
