Organization Development’s Role when Going Global

PHARMA is a successful pharmaceutical company operating, until now, solely in the United States. As a result of their successful hard-line sales history, the environment at Pharma has been described as “entrepreneurial.” Pharma’s corporate culture has always been aggressive, competitive, and power-oriented, which has contributed to its success.

However, being U.S.-centric must now change, and Marcus, the new CEO at Pharma, has charged the organization to become global by next year. Marcus has identified three global regions—India, Asia, and Africa—to begin Pharma’s global efforts.
