The problem of BSS arises in a wide variety of real-life applications, which helps explain the intense interest this research area has attracted over the last years. A typical example is encountered in multi-user communication systems, where several mobile users sharing the transmission medium over the same time-frequency-code slot cause co-channel interference (CCI) with each other.
