16.1 Introduction
16.1.1 Context
Whereas the previous chapters of this book mainly concern Blind Source Separation (BSS) methods, based in particular on Independent Component Analysis (ICA), in this chapter and the subsequent ones, the emphasis is put on applications of such techniques. In each application domain (see also the next three chapters), priors are generally available and BSS shifts to semi-blind source separation (SBSS): exploiting priors is very important for designing simpler and more efficient algorithms.
