Abstract

There has been a major problem addressed about the parking slots in the metropolitan cities recently as there is a very limited space available reserved for parking as such. The major issue with vehicle parking is that the various malls and shopping complexes have very limited space and on the other hand the number of vehicles has drastically increased these days. Due to the rapid increase in vehicle density especially during the peak hours of the day, it is a difficult task for the drivers to find a parking space to park their vehicles. There has been a variety of research done before to address this issue. The proposed system makes use of advanced techniques for automating the parking reservation for various places using number plate recognition and android application with IoT integration for informing the parking availability status.
