Wars and Conflicts

The subject area Wars and Conflicts describes situations of combat, violence, strife, or struggle associated in some way with energy. This can include new developments in weaponry or combat vehicles, struggles between nations to control energy resources, conflicts in the energy industry such as labor-management disputes in coal mining, or public protests linked to energy policy or energy supply. This section also includes innovations or advances in energy technology that take place in connection with warfare, such as the use of radar and sonar and the development of semiconductor technology by the Allies in World War II.
