Health and Safety

Within the context of this book, the category Health and Safety refers to the effects on health and safety that are associated with the development, production, transportation, use, and waste disposal of various forms of energy. This description applies mainly to energy’s effects on humans. Effects on nonhuman organisms (e.g., deforestation, agricultural herbicides) are generally covered in the Ecology section.
