Abstract:
In the introduction, the advantages and drawbacks of using radio frequency microelectromechanical systems (RF MEMS) in phase shifters compared with solid-state circuits will be presented. Then, a review of the more common phase shifter topologies will be addressed. Design equations and schematics will be given, as well as recently published papers using RF MEMS. To illustrate RF MEMS phase shifter applications such as beamforming and beamswitching, one particular architecture will be presented as a global example. Finally, we will conclude ...
