Abstract:
This chapter addresses Heat Integration in multipurpose batch plants in situations where the schedule is known a priori, as well as cases that are characterised by unknown prior production schedules. In most published literature, Heat Integration of batch facilities is treated as a secondary objective to production scheduling, which implies that the starting and ending times of tasks are fixed a priori.
