Abstract:
This chapter discusses the possibilities offered by implementing Process Integration for the efficient use of energy in buildings and building complexes. In many countries buildings account for about 40% of the total energy demand and 36% of the total greenhouse gas emissions, and are hence considered both consumers and producers of energy.
