Geopolitics of Resources and Recycling

Abstract

The new geopolitics of raw materials make reconsidering the role of resource efficiency, as well as the role of recycling in waste management, essential. These geopolitics also are changing waste management from an “end-of-pipe” policy and technique to a tool integrated in the life-cycle management of raw materials throughout the supply chain, next to the environmental and public health considerations of waste management.
