Spear phishing is another commonly used technique to steal money and sensitive information from targets. In phishing, many recipients get copies of the same email. The attack casts a wide net to get as many victims as possible. In spear phishing, however, the target is preselected. The attacker will have done a lot of research about the target to know exactly what to use to catch them off guard. This makes spear phishing quite dangerous, since it can capitalize on anything.
