The first of our intended transformations has to take a list of products and add a category name to each product in the list. The following recipe goes through the step-by-step procedure involved in the transformation definition:
- Every Data Flow Task's definition is defined in the Data Flow tab of a package. We can visit the tab by double-clicking on certain Data Flow Tasks in the Control Flow tab, or we can get direct access to a Data Flow tab.
More Data Flow Tasks are often defined within a package, so we should check which Data Flow Task definition we are creating. The following screenshot shows a drop-down list of Data Flow Task in the Data Flow tab:
