Encoding Your Video
You should come into this chapter with all critical decisions, like resolution, audio and video bit rate and frame rate set in stone (see Chapter 7). If producing Flash video with an alpha channel, you should have already keyed out the background (see Chapter 8).
Still, you have some fairly weighty decisions to make. Which codec will you use, Spark or VP6, and will you encode using constant bit rate encoding (CBR) or variable bit rate encoding (VBR) techniques?
Where will you encode the video? In your editor (if possible) or a third-party encoder? Is there a substantial qualitative difference between the tools? If the latter, what type of intermediate file format will you use between editor and encoder, and when ...
