It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

When you develop a package in Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS), you can save this package to the file system, inside a table in the SQL Server, or in the SSIS package store. You will then use SQL Server Management Studio to run, monitor, or manage these packages from these locations.
