I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Performance Monitoring Tools
Integration Services provides a number of performance counters that can help you monitor the run-time workings of a package. You can also use tools such as SQL Server Profiler provided with SQL Server 2005 and Windows Performance counters to get a complete picture of run-time activities. These tools can be useful in understanding the internal workings and identifying which components are acting as bottlenecks in the performance of your package. In addition, you can use the Logging tool provided by Integration Services to develop a performance baseline for your package.
