It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Initial conditions and state update
In the single-pole balancing experiment, we used random initial state conditions, but with the two poles, the initial conditions are a bit more simplified. The system starts with all cart and pole velocities set to zero. The initial position of the long pole is one degree from the vertical, and the short pole is exactly upright.
