Advanced Aspects of HAZOP Study
This chapter covers the HAZOP study of computer-controlled processes, human factors in HAZOP study, and linking of HAZOP study to layer of protection analysis (LOPA). Guidance is given on how the hardware and software of a computer-controlled system may be examined including reference to EU legislation. Two levels of examination are described, enhanced HAZOP study and CHAZOP—a full examination of a computer system. The need for an earlier HS 2 is explained.
