11.4. Let Go of Outdated Managerial Commandments
Anyone who has seen a child swinging across monkey bars or has personally experienced the adult equivalent in a military obstacle course knows that in order to get from one end to the other, you need to grab a bar with one hand and, while maintaining your momentum, grasp the next, let go of the first, and continue the process of holding on and letting go until you reach the end. There is a moment where you need to take a leap of faith by letting go of one bar without the absolute assurance that you will be able to grasp the next. If you don't take that risk and hold on to any bar too long, you lose your momentum and eventually drop to the ground.
