Accreditation Assertion by a professional or industry association that an organization offering services to the public meets the accrediting association’s standards of capacity and performance.
American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) An organization representing the interests of schools of medicine in the United States.
Ad Council A nonprofit organization of advertising industry firms dedicated to developing and sponsoring public interest announcements and campaigns.
Advanced practice nurse An individual who, in addition to a basic nursing degree, has an advanced degree or other certification to perform more specialized and independent work. Examples include nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and nurse anesthetists.
