The new health care law promises to bestow upon us much more information about the American medical system, or as government planners say, make it more transparent.

There will be details about a host of new insurance options, all with their own deductibles and vast array of new benefits. We’ll have new data about medical errors, infections, and quality measures for hospitals and other health providers. Of course, all this will be available at our fingertips, on the Internet.

Add that to the existing complexities of medical care, including all the specialists, therapeutic guidance, technology, and prescription drugs, each with a brand and a generic name.
