Registries

Some of the databases used for population health purposes are referred to as registries. Registries typically provide information associated with a single disease, a group of related diseases, or a specific grouping of environmental contaminants. The data within registries is collected from many different sources. An immunization registry, for example, might contain data for anyone eligible to receive an immunization (which includes a large proportion of people in a population) about which immunizations they received, when, and from whom.
