Introduction to Health Data Standards

The ability to communicate in a way that ensures the message is received and the content is understood is dependent on standards. Data standards are intended to reduce ambiguity in communication so that actions taken based on the data are consistent with the actual meaning of that data. On February 17, 2009, President Barack Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) into law.
