Abstract
Two distinctly different approaches to the physical design of an economizer exist in today’s heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) business. One is driven by design considerations, another by manufacturing reasons. A custom design allows theoretical flexibility to satisfy thermal and hydraulic process requirements. A standard design requires all panels to be the same for ease of manufacturing and utilizes crossover jumpers to connect panels and build the flow circuitry.
