Abstract
This chapter deals with the special nature of the thermal/hydraulic and mechanical/structural designs of superheaters in the HRSG setting. Superheaters come in many forms within the typical three-pressure plus reheat HRSG. Requirements associated with the various hot end high-pressure superheaters and reheaters are discussed and contrasted to the needs of intermediate-pressure and low-pressure superheaters typically found in the cooler portions downstream of the high-pressure evaporator.
