Abstract
This chapter covers the carbon monoxide oxidizers that are installed in heat recovery steam generator systems to reduce the CO emissions generated in the combustion process, so that the stack CO emission limit can be met. It describes the function of the oxidation catalyst contained therein, the reaction mechanism taking place on the catalyst, and the nature of the construction of the catalytic structure and surface.
