Abstract
Heterogeneous system architecture intermediate language (HSAIL) is a low-level compiler intermediate language, designed to express parallel regions of code and to be portable across multiple vendor platforms and hardware generations. This chapter provides a virtual tour of the HSAIL instruction set, describes the HSA execution model, and introduces tools and compilers, which use HSAIL.
