Calculating Scenario Availability
In the preceding section, we calculated the availability for all of the serial and parallel constructs in our network diagrams. We also included all five of the factors for availability. Power was included at Site 1, Site 2, and the CPE site. Human error also was included at both Site 1 and Site 2.
The only thing we omitted to calculate so far was the fail-over contribution to downtime of the backbone 12000 routers. The way we calculate that downtime will be to calculate the failures of the Cisco 12000 routers and attribute 30 seconds of OSPF route recalculation for each failure.
